About The Ashbourne School of Dance
The Ashbourne School of Dance has been running for over 35 years and I took over as its current Principal in 1999, when former teacher and then Examiner of The AAD Josephine Coleman retired.
I have almost 30 years of teaching experience and in that time have been lucky enough to gain professional experience dancing at venues such as The Dominion and Coliseum Theatres in London’s West End, as well as Buxton and Blackpool Opera Houses to name but a few.
Gaining top marks to become a fully qualified Teacher with The Association of American Dancing has also meant awards for my teaching examination results, with pupils having the option to take part in technical exams, stage exams and competitions as well as local fetes and demonstrations.
We are also qualified under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus and provide high quality training in all aspects of Ballet, Tap, Modern & Acrobatics.
I am a qualified first aider, fully DBS checked and hold full public liability insurance. In addition to this I hold the Otago exercise programme certificate and teach older and frail adults a strength and balance class designed to reduce falls in later life, which is endorsed by the NHS and Age UK.
